This year Georgia has become a new home of HIGHLANDER Adventure - The leading long-distance hiking series in the world. So, on August 25-27 Svaneti - the homeland of old myths, stories and culture with its mesmerizing views and natural energy will host local and international guests to explore an exotic, mysterious and ancient Georgian culture, stretching back for millennia.

HIGHLANDER with the support of the EU, Sweden and Austria, will facilitate the creation and stimulation of the awareness/information around Svaneti destination and its products and hiking trails. The global demand for responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment sustains the wellbeing of local people and involves interpretation and education is rising. It is therefore envisaged to attract an international nature‐based, adventure, soft adventure, and cultural tourism-oriented community.

HIGHLANDER is an eco-friendly & sustainable event that promotes the use of organic food, zero waste and a reusable approach to mountain tourism in line with the objectives of the GRETA project (co-funded by the EU, Sweden and Austria).

HIGHLANDER is an opportunity for the SMEs engaged in sustainable mountain tourism in Svaneti to promote and sell their winter and summer seasons services and products, attracting audiences around the world.
