March 15 – 19, 2023 - This year, Svaneti, a beautiful place in Georgia, will host two skiing competitions called the Freeride World Tour, with the support of the EU, Sweden and Austria and in collaboration with USAID Economic Security Program.

Freeride skiing is a challenging type of skiing down steep mountains covered in snow.

In addition to the competitions, there will be a range of cultural, gastronomic, and entertainment programs on offer throughout the week. About 50 people from Georgia and other countries will be competing in the competitions.

These competitions provide an excellent opportunity to promote mountain resorts in Georgia, increasing awareness and making them more attractive to both local and foreign tourists and athletes. This will undoubtedly contribute to the development of tourism in Georgia, further boosting the country's reputation as a premier winter sports destination.

"Svaneti Freeride Week" was organized with the support of the European Union, Sweden, and Austria, in collaboration with the Destination Management Organization "Shan-Land" DMO ShanLand. in addition, its supporters are the USAD Economic Security Program, Mestia Municipality, MTA, National Tourism Administration, and Georgian Ski Federation.

Freeride World Tour is an annual world ski and snowboard competition that has covered many spots of the world and brought together athletes from different countries to win the title of winner.
