Module #11: Sexual Harassment

The primary purpose of the course is to foster the understanding of complex issues concerning women's rights and gender equality, as well as the protection of gender equality in society and business sphere.
Sexual harassment is the unwelcome imposition of sexual advances, requests for sexual favours, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that interferes with an individual's dignity and creates a hostile, intimidating, degrading, humiliating, or offensive environment, within public spaces.
It is important for society to recognize that sexual harassment can occur in any public context, including:
- On the streets
- In public transportation
- In dining or recreational establishments
- During service pr

- During service provision, such as receiving healthcare services, for instance: medical treatment, public restrooms, taxi services, courier services, etc.
Moreover, sexual harassment is quite common in the workplace, unfortunately, including in Georgia, both in public agencies and in private companies. We need to know what action can be considered as sexual harassment, what negative impact it has on the individual and society, and what are the mechanisms for the prevention of and response on sexual harassment cases.
