Module #17. National Instruments on Protecting Women's Rights and Gender Equality

Within the framework of the GRETA project, the online video on "Gender Equality and Women's Rights for Building a Just and Inclusive Society" was developed with the co-funding of the European Union, Sweden, and Austria. The primary purpose of the course is to foster the understanding of complex issues concerning women's rights and gender equality, as well as the protection of gender equality in society and business sphere.

National legislation on women's rights and gender equality includes such key instruments as:

  • The Law of Georgia "On Gender Equality" (2010), the purpose of which is to prevent discrimination in all spheres of public life, to create supportive conditions for the realization of equal rights, freedoms and opportunities for women and men. The purpose of the law is also to promote the prevention and elimination of discrimination.
  • Law of Georgia "On Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination" (2014), which defines discrimination as an unj
