Module #16. International Tools on Women's Rights and Gender Equality
2023, 14 SeptemberWithin the framework of the GRETA project, the online video on "Gender Equality and Women's Rights for Building a Just and Inclusive Society" was developed with the co-funding of the European Union, Sweden, and Austria. The primary purpose of the course is to foster the understanding of complex issues concerning women's rights and gender equality, as well as the protection of gender equality in society and business sphere.
The International tools on women's rights and gender equality include such key documents as:
- The UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), which is the main international instrument, on the protection of women's rights and the fight against discrimination against women. Georgia ratified the mentioned convention in 1994.

- Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating the Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (Istanbul Convention), which deals with the prevention of violence and the protection of the victims of violence. Georgia ratified this convention in 2017.
