Module #15. Gender Equality and Women's Rights – An Integral Part of the Human Rights System

The primary purpose of the course is to foster the understanding of complex issues concerning women's rights and gender equality, as well as the protection of gender equality in society and business sphere.
Human rights equally apply to each everyone, regardless of their race, skin colour, sex, language, religion, political and other beliefs, national or social origin, property, rank or other status.
Based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), every right is independent and indivisible. According to the preamble of the declaration: "Recognition of the inherent dignity, equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and universal peace in the world."

It is important to know what the terms "gender equality" and "non-discrimination" mean; How these concepts are defined in international human rights instruments and how important they are for the realization of human rights principles, and for ensuring an equal society and dignified life.
